My big painting of two baby Tawny’s took 10 weeks to create. The detail and variety of tones in the feathers became a much-loved time consuming obsession.

As the two kids morphed and characterised onto the canvas they adopted the names of Sparky and Gus. Sparky on watch and Gus contemplating their future.
