Edwina jury selected as a finalist in Australia’s most prestigious bird art competition  –  Holmes  Art Prize for Excellence in Realistic Australian Birdlife 2017.

This beautiful Baudin’s Cockatoo showcases her charisma through the contemplation of her luncheon orb and expressive cheeky matriarchal attitude.

The Baudin’s Black Cockatoo is listed as endangered and can be considered quite mysterious.  It can be found in dense eucalypt forests of the far southwest Australia – precious little is known about the bird’s habits or movements. This makes the task of conserving this endangered species all the more challenging.

The body feathers are edged with white giving a scalloped appearance. Adult males have a dark grey beak and pink eye-rings. Adult females have a bone coloured beak, grey eye-rings and ear patches that are paler than those of the males.
