Magpies have a reputation as being magnets to shiny glittery objects out to steal jewellery and shiny ornaments from your garden.  Apparently this story is a furphy in fact new research indicates that flashy objects repel magpies.

As an Australian Realistic Bird Artist I am always looking for interesting subjects to paint.  The Australian Magpie is one of our nations much loved birds, renowned for their dawn chorus, curious personalities and backyard hijinks.
